Sun Practice (Beginner / Intermediate)

Sun Practice - is about energy management and developing a deeper relationship to Prana, the energy that sustains us and all of life. A more dynamic practice than Moon, the Solar path rides the line between cultivating the power we need to excel and the sensitivity we need to touch the subtler planes of reality. In addition to Asanas that open the chest and upper body and an emphasis on developing the inhalation, here we see the introduction of the deeper Tantric practices such as Bandhas and Mudras to increase the voltage and radiance within this vessel, the body.

Fire Practice (Intermediate/Advanced)

Fire Practice - all elements of the tantric path are utilised with asana, including deeper work with Bandha, Mudra and Mantra to still the mind, cultivate energy, burn through limitations and safety call forth our dormant spiritual power know as Kundalini Shakti and transform it into activated power, or Prana Shakti, which is the essence of our greatness. Although the arc of physical challenge also increases in Fire practice with the inclusion of Extensions and Inversions, the true emphasis is on the cultivation of an internal ‘heat’ centred in the navel. This is complimented by the directing of awakened Prana into the spine, considered our pathway to the infinite. The result is meditative absorption into the higher spiritual centres, particularly the heart.

Included in Fire Practices

All asana categories including inversions and extensions

Complimentary Tantric techniques such as Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra, Mantra & Meditation

Developing Inhalation and exhalation

Merging inhalation (Prana) and exhalation (Apana) in the navel to cultivate the Yogic Fire of transformation (Agni).

You are feeling physically and mentally balanced

You are stable, calm and grounded

You have already stablished a relationship with Prana

You have a committed daily practice

Your worldview embraces Yoga as a Spiritual practice.

‘We are only as good as the amount of prana we have access to and are able to skilfully wield. Indeed, tantra is the science of energy management.’

Sessions

One-on-one training with the teacher as they did back in the ancient days where the student will be taught a sequence of asana, pranayama and tantric Kriya meditation. The student will then take home details on the sequence to continue practicing and encouraged to complete a 40 day sadhana. A comprehensive Tantric Hatha Yoga Manual is also given to equip the student further. The goal is to make aspiring yogis independent as quick as possible so they can prescribe a yogic sequence for themselves or others when the need arrises.
